Dark Vengeance Released
Taking Macintosh gaming to the edge, GT Interactive Software is releasing Dark Vengeance from its MacSoft subsidiary. MacSoft introduces a new era in Mac gaming with this third-person, 3D action game developed by Reality Bytes®.

"Dark Vengeance breaks all the rules of combat gaming and brings a new style and breadth of gameplay to 3D action," said Cindy Swanson, marketing manager for MacSoft. "With outstanding 3D graphics and dynamic colored lighting, Dark Vengeance is going to fully exploit the next generation of hardware."

Dark Vengeance immerses players in the midst of an ancient evil that has brought forth the scourge of the land, the Dark Elves. Having vowed revenge on the people of Amagar, the Elves swarm across the surface destroying everything in their paths in search of vengeance. The players' goal is to exact their own vengeance against the enemy and end the reign of death and disaster.

Dark Vengeance offers a vast array of features:

• player control of three characters with three different styles of combat to choose from as well as ability to control character's physical appearance;
• individual character motives (outlined with in-engine cut scenes) making each game a completely unique combat experience;
• more than 30 weapons including The Vampire Staff, Living Flame and Fiery Fist, hand-to-hand, short-ranged, long-ranged, tricks, traps, potions and spells;
• supports up to 32 players and 64 voyeurs with dynamic jump-ins, cross-platform networking over TCP/IP or LAN, plus packet management for optimized play on the Internet.

Dark Vengeance will be released this month and carry a suggested retail price of $39.99.

Unreal 1.0.2b1 Released
From Westlake Interactive:
The next Unreal Mac public beta patch,1.0.2b2, is here. Severeal bugs from 1.0.2b1 are fixed, including the network player name gibberish bug.

Make sure to read the enclosed Read Me file for notes and information. Back up your original Unreal application and Unreal "system" folder before updating! If the new version doesn't work right, you'll want to go back to the old ones.
