Quakeworld for Mac!
In a recent mac gaming newsgroup post, Mark Adams of Westlake
Interactive let us know of this interesting tidbit:
We do have the code, and we're reviewing it to see how much work it will be to do. Hopefully it won't be terribly complex because we'd have to do nearly for free since id doesn't want anyone to sell or charge anything for QW.
By early next week we should know whether or not mac gamers will EVER be seeing Quakeworld...

Shadow Warrior 3Dfx Finally Released
Well it looks like MacSoft finally got on the ball after Mark
Adams' recent post and released the Shadow
Warrior 3Dfx patch, also released is a new Shadow Warrior 1.0.1
update. I've tried out the 3Dfx patch and had no problems, in fact it
looked wonderful! One note though, the new 3Dfx version require a
minimum of 24mb or free RAM.
You can download the
3Dfx
patch here and the
1.0.1

Shadow Warrior 3Dfx Patch Update
Mark Adams posted the following note to a mac gaming news group
the other day:
I sent a final version of the patch to Macsoft a couple weeks ago,
and haven't heard anything from them. They haven't told me anything
that needs to be fixed that is preventing them from releasing it, so
I'm not sure why it isn't out. I went ahead and fixed a minor bug I
noticed in my own testing and sent another 'final' version to them a
couple days ago, and still haven't heard back.
Sometimes the speed things go frustrates me as much as you...
We're contacting MacSoft directly to find out just what is going on here...
Top Gun!
I've been playing around with MacSoft's Top Gun: Fire At Will the
last couple days, and it looks great! It's not nearly as complicated
a flightsime as any of the Hornets but, I've found the gameplay to be
much more fun! I'm having trouble taking screenshots from the game so
until I figure that out, here's a shot from MacSoft's web site:

Diablo Update
The MacGamers Ledge has
posted the following anonymous report by one of the MacDiablo
testers, the tester have received the final version to test:
According to MGL's anonymous source, everything, including Battle.net
play, is solid and once they iron out a few AppleTalk-related and
modem dial-up bugs, the game will be released to manufacturing.
Unless a nasty bug rears its ugly head in this latest version, we
believe a release is expected within 1-2 weeks (that's a "release to
manufacturing" prediction, not "on-the-shelf" release).
