Macplay Posting a hoax
Unfortunatly, we just received word form Interplay that the
posting on the Macplay message board was a hoax and Macplay is not
making anything new for the foreseeable future...
New Games from MacPlay?!
This sounds like a hoax, and we are trying to contact everyone we
know over at Interplay to get a confirmation or denial. A user named
"MacPlay" posted this to the
MacPlay message board late
yesterday:
Dear Mac Users,
We have watched the posts on here and are happy to say that we will release new games starting late October with Fallout 2.We are doing this due to the high sales of iMac systems which has rased Apple's market share to 13%. Remeber that we said 10% and we would stay. Again, we will be making new titles around late October - early November. Starting with Fallout 2. If there are any questions feel free to E-Mial us at: macplay@interplay.com
Thank You,
MacPlay
This looks a little too kosher to be true... As soon as we get a confirmation or denial you'll be the first to know!
Mac Carmageddon 2 Demo?
It is still not known if there is/will be a Mac version of the
Carmageddon 2 demo. As reported in yestersday's news, Mac Carmageddon
2 is getting ready for a November 4 release. We should know one way
or the other about the demo sometime this afternoon.
Upcoming reviews at the MGA
In the next couple weeks we will be posting reviews of the 3Cfx
flightsim "Flying Circus", and of Interplay's "Learn to Program
Basic" edutainment title.

Activision buys rights to Star Trek game license's
In a report
yesterday, Activision had announced that it had bought the game
licenses to all the Star Trek properties for a ten year period.
Activision now owns the rights to any future game based on the Star
Trek franchise.
What does this mean to Mac Gamers? Well, previously some very Mac friendly publisher's had license to Star Trek properties, Micropose had the rights to The Next Generation, Interplay had the rights to the Original Series, and Simon & Schuster had the rights to Deep Space Nine. Although their respective contracts will continue (with no chance of rewnal obviously). Now, the decidly Mac unfriendly Activision holds the future of all Star Trek games on all platforms.
