Bug fixes coming for Civ 2 Gold
MacSoft programmer Brian Nesse posted this to usenet yesterday:

We received the Civ II Gold 1.0 and the PC 1.3 sources from the original porting group last week. Our source code control system has corrupted itself twice since then putting a damper on progress, but...

We are wading through 29 items culled from customer support and the newsgroups... some of which are bugs, some that are not, and some that we have yet to reproduce. We have rolled in the 1.3 updates which fixes a couple of bugs and fixed some Mac specific things. We have fixed a number of items (file sharing issues, scenario loading & editing issues, goto bugs, democracy bugs, revert issues, and apparently the network game stability problems.) We still have many items on the list that we haven't gotten to yet however.

Problems with G3 upgraded Mac and the Voodoo 3 reference drivers?
3Dfx's main Mac man, Ken Dyke, recently posted this to usenet in regards to a possible problem with the Voodoo 3 drivers and G3 upgraded powermacs:

I am trying to track down if there is a common theme with the G3 problems and get a feel for how widespread the problem is. What I would like is for G3 upgrade owners with Voodoo3s to email me at kcd@3dfx.com with something like: [V3/G3 Upgrade Info] in the subject line.

What I would like to know is your exact system and CPU upgrade configuration, including the type of machine you have, what make/model of G3 accelerator you have, what the CPU and bus clock speeds are, L2 cache size and ratio, etc.

I would like this information from everyone using a Voodoo3 with a G3 upgrade card. Please include in your message a simple yes/no to whether or not you are experiencing problems with the 2D acceleration (or even with 3D for that matter). Actually, if you are having problems with a system without a G3 upgrade that would be good to know too. If you have already contacted me via email, I would ask that you please send the above description again anyway so you don't fall through the cracks.

FWIW, my PowerTower Pro with a Newer G3/300/300/1MB is working perfectly. I was actually hoping it would break so I could do some more testing. :-\
