Before I even begin the review of the game Postal I must mention this little thing about it first. This game has a high level of violence and I wouldn't recommend it for younger children.

Well I have played the game Postal for about 1-2 weeks and I really do enjoy it. The game play is easy and the learning curve is pretty simple. The entire idea of the game is to kill at least 80% of those alive on the level. Once you do that you can go to the next level.

The graphics on the game are nice. They aren't rendered in 3D, which is good in my opinion, since then it would require a good deal more of yuor computer processing it and then even the lower end PowerMacs would have trouble running it. The game uses an above view and a 45 degree angle (if I recall it correctly).

The objective in the MAIN part of the game is to kill everybody. It sounds just like the objective in Doom or Quake but this is slightly different. It seems that everybody is out to kill you. Why I am not sure since the game never really explains it. Even in the ending it isn't really explained. The objective is to kill at least 80% of those on the level and then you cvan move on. The best part is that if you want you can kill everybody on the screen. Also a nice added bonus is that you can blow up canisters and gas tanks. They don't just explode like in Quake and Doom but they also light on fire and burn for a bit.

There are two problems I had with the game though.

1. There was no opening movie or story that went along with the game. I didn't like that myself since I am used to the games that give you a nice story so you have an idea what you are killing people for.

2. The other thing that really annoyed me was that they supplied a program with the game to make your own levels. I personally was unable to get it to work right. It came with a small textfile giving very quick directions about the program and then it said that there was no support offered for it so don't bother calling us. I found this really stupid to do. Why give a program to the users and then supply really poor directions on using it?

Overall I did enjoy the game very much. I would highly recommend it to anybody that likes the type of game where you just run around and kill things. The weapons are nice, the graphics are good, the gameplay is nice, and the sounds are really funny and nice. I do think that this game shouldn't be for those younger kids.
