Tokyo Drift…

So I saw The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift in a movie theatre shortly after it came out in 2006. I was not a big fan of the series at the time, I know I had seen the first one but not the second. Everyone had been talking about how good a movie it was and I wanted to check it out.

Honestly I came out thinking the movie was fairly entertaining but I was really confused about some of the things that happened to Sean after he first arrived in Japan. It seemed really weird how he became friends with Bow Wow at the race. I didn’t think much of it afterwards as I wasn’t expecting an Oscar calibre screenplay or deep character development.

It wasn’t until years and years later I finally watched the movie again after really enjoying some of the later films in the franchise. It was only then I realized the theatre where I originally watched the movie had the REELS OUT OF ORDER!

The version I watched had Sean race in the parking garage prior to going to school for the first time. This was in a mostly full theatre. As far as I could tell this shuffle of reels did not raise any alarms among the rest of the audience. I sometimes wonder when (and if) the other audience members from that day realized what happened?
