Hostess Chocodile Twinkies

After I read about the return of Chocodiles on Dinosaur Dracula, I became determined to find them. Now I live in Canada, and they most definitely do not sell Chocodiles in Canada, so everytime I went on a quest for the Chocodiles I had to drive an hour to Bellingham, WA.

I made 3 trips and checked many, many grocery stores trying to find the elusive Chocodile. I’m not kidding in saying I checked 9 different stores in one trip without success.

Finally, Friday August 22nd (my first search with my awesome new wife for a good luck charm) I found the so elusive Chocodile:

Christmas 2013…

It has been a while since my last post, but I can’t let a holiday season go bye without writing about some random crap.

How about Snickerdoodle milk?

Yes, it is a real thing. Sold at Target.

Snickerdoodle Milk

I didn’t remember to grab a picture of what it actually looked like, but the packaging is a good representation. It is basically a little lighter colored than chocolate milk. I was somewhat apprehensive about the taste, but was pleasantly surprised. Basically cinnamony sweet tasting milk, like eggnog with a whole lot more cinnamon.

The sweetness was too much for me though, I only drank half a glass.

More important than Snickerdoodle milk, this year I managed to again find Christmas Crunch cereal!

It had been a while since I’ve had Christmas Crunch. I was unsuccessful in my crunch quest in 2012 and 2011. My last successes were in 2010 and 2009.

Actually I found this year’s Christmas Crunch back in November just before US Thanksgiving. That seems to be the sweet time to find it, last year I checked at least a dozen grocery stores along the I-5 corridor during the first week of December, but I think that it was too late.

Christmas Crunch is essentially just a holiday-ified version of Captain Crunch Crunchberries edition, but that holiday-ification makes all the difference to me. There’s something about Christmas versions of food products that just call out to me.

If you look closely in the Christmas Crunch photos you can make out the caboose of my new train. I’ve always wanted a model train to run around my tree and this year is the year I actually got one. Of course it took over a month, two locomotives, trips to the local train store, and a lot of patience, but eventually had a running train going around my tree.

Halloween Crunch

Halloween Crunch is a holiday themed cereal that I have unfortunately not had the chance to eat. I only heard about it a couple of weeks ago from X-Entertainment blog. Apparently it hasĀ been around since at least 2009! I don’t know how I missed it!

I can’t tell you what it tastes like because I’ve been unable to procure a box. If I wanted 14 boxes of it I would be all set, because that’s how Amazon sells it. But considering when I manage to get a hold of Christmas Crunch I don’t even finish one box, 14 seems like it might be a bit wasteful. I’ll try to take one more look for Halloween Crunch when I go grocery shopping this weekend, but I’m not hopeful. I’d rather have Christmas Crunch anyway…
