Bacchanal at Caesars Palace or The Buffet at Wynn? They’re the two Las Vegas buffets people argue about most, and we’ve eaten at both more than once: Bacchanal in November 2022 and November 2023, and the Wynn in November 2023 and July 2024. Here’s how they compare, with current prices and what we’d pick.

The short answer

Pick Bacchanal if you want the biggest spread on the Strip, with everything from ribs and dim sum to tacos and a huge seafood station. Pick the Wynn if you’d rather have a calmer, prettier dining room and food that feels a little more polished, at a slightly lower price. On our November 2023 trip we did both, and the Wynn was our favourite meal of the trip.

Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace

Bacchanal is about range. You walk past station after station, so plan a strategy or you’ll be full before you reach the end. Our plates went from glazed ribs, roast chicken and shrimp cocktail to fried rice, a spring roll and a tostada, then shrimp soup, a taco and a mini burger, and finally a plate of desserts. The seafood station, with crab legs, shrimp and oysters, is a big draw at dinner and crab brunch. More from our visits in November 2023 and November 2022.

The Buffet at Wynn

The Wynn’s buffet sits in a bright, flower-filled room at the north end of the Strip, and it feels more relaxed than Bacchanal. The food is where it shines: crab legs, sushi and tuna nigiri, prime rib, and one of the best dessert spreads in town, from churros to strawberry cake. See our visits in November 2023 and July 2024.

Head to head

  • Variety: Bacchanal wins. It’s one of the biggest buffets on the Strip.
  • Atmosphere: Wynn wins. The dining room is bright, calm and pretty.
  • Price: Wynn is cheaper at both brunch and dinner (late 2026 prices).
  • Crab legs: Both have them at dinner. At Bacchanal, the cheaper brunch and lunch don’t include crab.
  • Desserts: Both are excellent. We’d give the Wynn the edge.
  • Location: Bacchanal is in Caesars Palace, mid-Strip. The Wynn is at the north end of the Strip.

Tips for either buffet

  • Book ahead. Both take reservations through their hotel’s website, and Bacchanal is also on OpenTable.
  • Go at off-peak times to skip the longest lines.
  • Don’t do both on the same day. One buffet a day is plenty.
  • If you want crab legs at Bacchanal, go for dinner or the weekend crab brunch.

Where to stay

We stayed at Caesars Palace, so Bacchanal was downstairs and the Wynn was a short ride north.
