A visit to the Museum of Flight in Seattle, one of the largest air and space museums in the world.
The museum sits at Boeing Field, south of downtown Seattle, and its collection ranges from early aircraft and vintage racing planes to a Concorde, Air Force One and space exhibits. The photos show some of the aircraft on display in the main gallery.
Plan on at least half a day to see everything, including the outdoor Aviation Pavilion across the road.

Every year on April 15, Major League Baseball marks the anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the sport’s colour barrier in 1947, and every player and coach wears his number 42. The photos show the ballpark on the day.

Game 3 of the 2022 American League Division Series between the Seattle Mariners and the Houston Astros at T-Mobile Park on October 15, 2022.
This was the first postseason game in Seattle since 2001, after the Mariners had just ended the longest playoff drought in North American major sports, and the atmosphere in the ballpark was electric. The game went down in history as an 18-inning marathon, finally won 1–0 by Houston.

Lunch at Pike Place Chowder in Seattle’s Pike Place Market.
Pike Place Chowder is famous for its award-winning chowders, from classic New England clam to smoked salmon and seafood bisque. A sampler, like the one pictured, is the best way to try several at once.
The original location is tucked away in Post Alley inside the market, and there’s often a line at lunchtime, but it moves quickly.

Lunch at the Athenian Seafood Restaurant and Bar in Seattle’s Pike Place Market.
The Athenian has been in the market since 1909, making it one of Seattle’s oldest restaurants, and it’s famous for a scene in the film Sleepless in Seattle. Its windows look out over Elliott Bay. The photos show the meal, including fish and chips and a Greek salad.
It’s a classic, unfussy spot for seafood and a view in the middle of the market.
